8:00 AM – Registration, Coffee & Socializing

  • There is no fee, but please register at the registration desk as you enter
  • Be sure to visit the various items on display in the registration area
  • Tickets for lunch ($6.00) at the University Cafeteria (located across the courtyard
    and upstairs) will be available at the registration desk

9:00 AM – Business Meeting & General Forum

  • Welcome and Announcements
  • Approval of the 2008 Annual Meeting Minutes – Janice Clain, Secretary
  • Treasurer’s Report, Elsa Sanborn, Treasurer
  • Adoption of Proposed FY 2009-2010 Budget – Tom Lewis, Chair,
    Budget Committee and/or Elsa Sanborn, Treasurer
  • (Kennebec River) Ferry Report – David Corrigan
  • Corresponding Secretary’s Report – Steve Clark, Corresponding Secretary
  • President’s Report – Milt Wright, President
  • Introduction of Executive Committee Members – Milt Wright, President
  • Base Camp Proposal Update – Lester Kenway, Vice President
  • Various Wind Tower Issues – Steve Clark, Chair, Ad Hoc Committee on Wind
    Power

10:45 am – Historical Pictures/DVD Presentation of Building the AT – Dave Field, Overseer of Lands

  • Collaboration of Baxter State Park and Maine Trail Crew on Projects in Baxter
    State Park – Paul Sannicandro, Baxter State Park
  • Campsite Committee Report – Laura Flight, Chair, Campsite Committee
  • Election of Association Officers for 2009- 2011 – Peter Roderick, Chair, Nominating Committee

Noon – Lunch – Make sure that you have purchased your lunch tickets for cafeteria         lunch at the registration desk or feel free to get lunch on your own.  Lunch tickets cost $6.00

1:00 PM – General Forum Resumes

  • Trail Reports – Overseer Reports(Tom Gorrill, Baldpate District; Dick Fecteau, Bigelow District; Peter Roderick, Kennebec District; Julian Wiggins, Whitecap District; Rick Ste. Croix, Katahdin District) on the status of these districts with accompanying slides by Dave Field, Overseer of Lands
  • Maine Appalachian Trail Land Trust, Carole Haas, Executive Director of MATLT
    Update from ATC – Matt Stevens, ATC Conservation Resources Manager from Rte 12 in Vermont to the summit of Mt. Katahdin
  • Open Forum – Now is the time to ask any questions that you have, make comments and discuss any matter that you would like to discuss.

Adjourn to Workshops

All trail maintainers meet with their respective overseers.  Because of the importance of this meeting, we ask that all section maintainers plan to meet with their District Overseers at this time.

Anyone who is not a section maintainer or who would like to know how to become a member of a MATC committee should meet at this time with the President and committee chairs or with the District Overseer.
