It’s sill replacement time! The trees we felled back in June have been drying (=becoming less heavy) so we can now replacing the rotting sills with these fresh logs. We’re looking for about a half dozen volunteers to help do some final excavation, jack up the lean-to, and slide the new logs into place! It’s slow but rewarding work! It’s a 1.3-mile hike with about 950 feet of elevation gain to access the campsite.

The Logan Brook lean-to was built 39 years ago, and while this might be young for a human the sills are showing their age after that many years of being in the weather. On June 25, we’re looking for half a dozen volunteers to help dig out the existing sills.We’ll also fell a couple of trees and prop them up to dry for the summer.
