Horns Pond Ridgerunner Pack-In

Bigelow District

The ridge runner season kicks-off with the annual pack-in to Horns Pond in the beautiful Bigelows! Meet at the Stratton Brook Pond Trail head at 8 am. It is a 5 mile hike to the campsite with a 2,000 feet elevation gain. Please bring a backpack with extra space in it to help transport items up to the campsite. After arriving at the campsite, a few hours will be spent setting up the ridgerunner's "home" for the season. Then we hike the 5 miles back to the parking lot.

Cranberry Stream Privy Site Prep

Bigelow District

We're building a new privy at Cranberry Stream, and need your help! On July 8 we'll do the site prep including felling a couple of trees, digging to get a flat surface, and installing the base 4x6s. It's about a 0.9 mile walk with 220 feet of elevation gain to the campsite. We want to get the site primed for the build on September 2-3!

Cranberry Stream Privy Haul

Bigelow District

We need your help getting materials to the Cranberry campsite on August 31! The privy was pre-built in May and is now packaged into ~150 bundles that are about 15-30 pounds. Volunteers are needed to shoulder this material to the campsite; a group of Colby College students will be there to help too. It's about a 0.9 mile walk with 220 feet of elevation to the campsite. Many hands make lighter work, and we need many hands for this project. Those of you involved in past projects can attest to the camaraderie, satisfaction, and good fun with these projects!

Cranberry Stream Privy Build

We're building a new privy at Cranberry Stream campsite, and need your help! All of the materials should be there (hauled in by Colby College, thankfully!) so this is the date to build the structure. It's about a 0.9 mile walk with 220 feet of elevation gain to the campsite. Those of you involved in past projects can attest to the camaraderie, satisfaction, and good fun with these projects!
