Crocker Cirque Campsite – The Crocker Cirque Campsite is near the base of South Crocker Mountain and near the beautiful Bigelow Range. Drive access is via Carrabassett Valley and 4 miles in the Caribou Pond Road (logging road) where a high-clearance vehicle is generally needed. Walk access is about 0.5 miles on the Caribou Pond Road (beyond a bridge that is not drivable) and an additional 1.0 miles on the AT with a total elevation gain of 650 feet. This campsite has 4 wooden tent platforms, several earthen tent sites, as well as a pit privy. More information on campsite maintainer duties and privy maintenance.
