Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
Make a tax-efficient gift to protect Maine’s Appalachian Trail—now and for generations.
A donor-advised fund (DAF) lets you contribute cash or appreciated assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants to the Maine Appalachian Trail Club (MATC) on your timeline.
Why give through a DAF?
- Simple, flexible giving (one-time or recurring)Â
- Potential tax benefits, including no capital gains on donated assetsÂ
- Minimal paperwork—your provider handles administrationÂ
How to give:
- Log in to your DAFÂ
- Search for “Maine Appalachian Trail Club” (EIN: 52-6047992)Â
- Recommend your grant (“where most needed” preferred)Â
Tip: Ask your provider to include your name and contact info so we can thank you.
Popular providers: Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, National Philanthropic Trust, and others
