Privy Build

We’re building new privies at Spaulding Mountain and Safford Notch campsites this summer, and need your help! The materials were helicoptered there on August 6-7; now we just need to build them. Which one we build on what dates is still being determined, but we are there will be activity on these event dates (unless the weather is poor). The hike access to the campsites is the same; both involved about 2.5 miles of hiking with 1,225 feet of elevation gain.

Avery Privy Build and Tool Haul Out

We’re building a new privy at the Avery Memorial campsite. We started building it August 9-11, but we still need to finish. We also need to hike all of the tools out (the tools were helicoptered in on August 7th). The hike access to the campsite is 4.0 miles with 2,700 feet of elevation gain, one-way. We will hike up with big, mostly empty packs, and hike down with tools. We’ll also get to check out the new privy!

Horns Pond Materials Prep

A bunch of materials are being flow out of the Horns Pond campsite later this summer. We need help bundling these materials to be helicoptered out in August. Access is a 4.5 mile hike with 2,000 feet of elevation gain. We’ll be carrying heavy-duty ratchet straps, slings, and burlap bags to prepare the materials as well as other tools.

Horns Pond Ridgerunner Pack-In

Come help us pack supplies in for the Bigelow ridgerunner for the 2026 season! It’s a ~5.0 mile one-way hike with about 2,000 feet of elevation gain.

We’re building a new privy at the Spaulding Mountain campsite this summer, and need your help! The materials were helicoptered there on August 7; now we just need to build it; we’ll start on it August 16, but we probably won’t finish (TBD on the finish date). The hike access to the campsite is 2.3 miles with 1,225 feet of elevation gain. Due to the long access, we will be in backpacking mode (staying at the campsite). However, day trips are also possible.

Avery Memorial Campsite- Privy Site Prep

The Avery Memorial campsite is getting a new privy, and we need your help! On July 11, we’ll do the site prep which will involve felling some trees and digging to get a flat surface. Access involves about 4.5 miles of hiking with 2,700 feet elevation gain. This will be a long day due to the miles and elevation gain to access the campsite.

Safford Notch Campsite Privy Site Prep

The Safford Notch campsite is getting a new privy, and we need your help! On June 14 we’ll do the site prep which will involve felling some trees and digging to get a flat surface. Access involves about 2.3 miles of hiking with 1,225 feet elevation gain.

The Spaulding Mountain campsite is getting a new privy, and we need your help! On June 6 (rain date June 7) we’ll do the site prep which will involve felling some trees and digging to get a flat surface. Access involves about 3.4 miles of hiking with 1,250 feet elevation gain.
